
TABNAK, Aug, 31: President of Iran’s Cooperatives Chamber Bahman Abdollahi said, “We are ready to start building 150.000 residential units in Iraq if Iraq provides us with the proper land.”
He further added that Iranian engineering teams must do the required investigations before the building process starts.
Abdollahi made the remarks in a meeting between Iran’s Cooperatives Chamber and Iraqi trade delegation, adding the chamber is also ready to provide construction material, basic commodities and agricultural products with the Iraqi City of Basra.
Iraq’s construction market is mainly controlled and handled by Iranian contractor companies.
Iraq intends to build a town comprising of 1.000 residential units whose construction is expected to last for three years, a good opportunity for Iranian construction companies to transfer expertise to the neighboring country and bring more revenues for Iran.
