TABNAK, Sep, 27: In a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in New York, the two sides emphasized unifying efforts and positions to be taken by Islamic countries to establish ceasefire in Lebanon instantly.

The two sides also pointed out that humanitarian and economic consequences of the conflicts in Lebanon will lead to direct security aftermaths and threaten international peace and security.

On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kana’ani condemned Israel's "violent attacks" on Gaza and Beirut, stating that the international community’s "inaction" serves to normalize "crime and villainy" by Tel Aviv.

The condemnation came after at least 15 Palestinians were killed on Thursday in an Israeli airstrike on a school sheltering displaced individuals in the Jabaliya refugee camp, in northern Gaza. An Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburb of Dahiyeh also killed at least two people and wounded 15 others.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of an impending, unprecedented catastrophe in West Asia due to Israel’s aggression and crimes against regional nations.

In Lebanon, recent Israeli attacks have left over 1,540 people dead and approximately 5,410 injured.
