TABNAK, Oct, 08: “Efforts and consultations of the Islamic Republic of Iran to prevent the shameless crimes (of Zionist regime) are underway,” he said.

Araqchi further continued that his recent trip to Beirut and Syria came for the same purpose.

He once again reiterated Iran’s policy to continue supporting the resistance. “We have frequently announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not after escalating tensions and war. Although we are not afraid of war.”

Iranian foreign minister then added, “We are prepared for any scenario and happening. Our armed forces are in full preparation. We have indentified all necessary targets.”

However, the senior Iranian diplomat reiterated that the country’s policy is based on stopping conflicts and reaching an ‘acceptable ceasefire’.

Iran launched missile attack on Israel last Tuesday (on October 1) following Israel’s recent assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC general Abbas Nilforoushan in September in Beirut .

While Israel has threatened retaliation, Iranian officials have repeatedly warned that Tehran's response to any Israeli action will be calculated, and severe. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said during a public sermon on Friday that Iran’s retaliation against Israel was legal and legitimate and that Tehran would carry out similar operations in the future “if necessary”.
