TABNAK, Oct, 19: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also discussed bilateral ties between Tehran and Ankara as well as the latest regional developments, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei wrote on X.

“Iran and Turkey as two big neighbors with influential role in the region and Islamic world share the same opinion about serious threats resulting from limitless crimes and aggression of Zionist regime and are affecting regional stability and security. They stress an urgent international action to end killing innocents by Israel and curb warmongerings and genocide of Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon,” he said.

Araqchi has already started a regional tour in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan and Egypt as Iran’s diplomatic efforts to end Israeli crimes and aggression in the region.

Israel has escalated its deadly attacks against Lebanon after launching a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 last year.

The ongoing Israeli bombardment has left Lebanon and its citizens in a dire humanitarian situation.

The death toll from Israel’s ongoing onslaught on Lebanon since last year has surged over 2,300, according to Lebanese health ministry.

On October 1, Iran fired a barrage of ballistic missiles at the Zionist entity, in a retaliatory attack dubbed Operation True Promise II.

Iran has reiterated that the missile attack against Israel was a response to the regime’s brutal wars in Palestine and Lebanon and its assassination of senior leaders of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance front and a commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Iranian authorities have warned that any counterattack by Israel would face more destructive responses from Iran.
