TABNAK, Nov, 16 : Earlier on November 4, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin announced that it is actively working to utilize all available resources to maintain consular services for Iranians residing in Germany.
In a statement, the embassy had referred to the German government's decision to close its consulates in Munich, Frankfurt, and Hamburg, saying while the move will undoubtedly disturb the lives of Iranians living in Germany, the embassy will do everything in its power to lessen the inconvenience.
On October 31, 2024, the German Foreign Minister said she would be closing all Iranian consulates in response to the execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, a terror ringleader responsible for the deaths of scores of Iranian civilians. The terrorist had German citizenship.
Sharmahd, who led the Tondar terror organization, was executed after years of trial.
