TABNAK, Nov, 17 : He made the remarks after some reports spoke of the EU’s ban on Iranian pistachio due to sanitation and hygienic matters, and that the EU has given Iran a 6-month period to fix the issue.
"There has been no ban, it was a technical ambiguity that was answered," Nouri said.
“We hope that if the issues are purely technical, they will be resolved and there will be no problem. It is better not to look for sanctions in advance. There is no embargo on Iranian pistachios,” he further said.
Iran exported $614 million of pistachios in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-October 21), the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reported on November 15.
As the IRICA reported, the value of Iran’s agricultural products export increased by 28 percent in the seven-month period of this year, as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
