TABNAK, Feb 01: Speaking in an exclusive interview with TABNAK News Website, Zarif said, “The Islamic Republic is the only government that has not lost even one inch of the county of Iran over last 220 years and it is a great capability.”
He reiterated that ‘Iran’s peace initiative’ for the Strait of Hormuz is affirming that the Islamic Republic is seeking peace and tranquility.
“Iran as a big regional country has always sought cooperation and tranquility in the Middle East. It feels that it can stand against any foreign threat and defend itself without any outsider support. Iran is able to stand on its own feet,” said Iranian former foreign minister.
However, he reiterated that Iran is not a 'tempting prize' for anyone, referring to threats against Iran by the US and Israel and certain western countries.
“This powerful and strong country wants opportunity-centered relations with regional countries based on mutual respect,” he said, referring to Iran.
