TABNAK, Aug, 31: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a phone call with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi, said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready for constructive talks with Jordan on bilateral issues as well as regional and international matters.”
Araqchi further said that Zionist regime is the root cause of spreading tension and conflict in the region as it presses ahead with its criminal measures.
He described Zionist regime as the main obstacle to reaching an agreement to end war in the Gaza Strip.
The Iranian foreign minister continued that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports an agreement intended by Palestinian people and resistance.
Al-Safadi, for his part, said “Tensions in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank need to be stopped.”
In July, the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance movement Hamas agreed to a deal featuring withdrawal of the Israeli forces, return of the displaced people, an end to the siege that has been imposed by Tel Aviv on Gaza, and initiation of the territory’s reconstruction process.
The regime, however, rejected the proposal before coming up with “new conditions,” including its keeping its forces inside Gaza along the coastal sliver’s border with Egypt.
Over 40.000 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza Strip over last few months and since start of Israeli attacks on the strip.
