Iran's nuclear electricity capacity to hit 3,000 MW in 4 years, says nuclear official
Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami said the country plans to generate 3.000 MW nuclear electricity by the next 4 years.
TABNAK, Sep, 01: Iran has already announced plans on nuclear power generation capacity to increase it to 3,000 megawatts upon the completion of the construction operation of two new nuclear power plants.
Iran has also prepared a roadmap to indigenize nuclear power plants, develop nuclear reactors and radiopharmaceuticals, he said.
Currently, only Bushehr nuclear power plant is functioning in Iran with the capacity of 1.000 MW. It has added 70 billion KW electricity per hour to the country’s capacity last year.
The second and third units of Bushehr nuclear power plants are also being constructed.
According to Eslami, Iran is now exporting radiopharmaceuticals to different countries.
