TABNAK, Oct, 02: “If the enemies make the slightest mistake, we may decide to destroy their infrastructures too,” Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said during a televised interview on Wednesday.
The remarks came after the Islamic Republic launched hundreds of missiles towards the Zionist entity’s military and intelligence bases all over the occupied Palestinian territories in response to the regime’s deadly aggression against the country and other regional nations.
The aggression has seen the regime waging a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, escalating its deadly attacks on Lebanon, and violating regional countries’ sovereignty to carry out targeted killing operations against senior regional officials. The atrocities have claimed tens of thousands of lives, including those of Hamas’ chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Abbas Nilforoushan, a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Mousavi praised the Iranian response for penetrating the regime’s “strongest defense layers,” identifying it as a message that warned Tel Aviv against keeping up its deadly atrocities and violating regional countries’ sovereignty.
“We exercised self-restraint for a while, but realized after some time that they [the enemies] do not rectify their ways and have to receive a definite response,” he said concerning the operation.
“We have always declared that we do not initiate any wars, but would definitely defend our rights powerfully,” he noted.
The commander reiterated that the Islamic Republic’s response to further potential Israeli aggression would certainly be “stronger and with multiple magnitude.”
He, however, hoped that the regime and its main supporters, including the United States, have received and understood the Islamic Republic’s message of deterrence.
