Iran’s President travels to Russia for BRICS summit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed for Russia on Tuesday to take part in 16th BRICS Summit in the City of Kazan.

TABNAK, Oct, 22: He plans to present proposals to strengthen ties among BRICS members at the upcoming meeting of the bloc.

The president is also slated to have bilateral meetings with his counterparts from some other member countries, including China’s Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the event.

The summit, scheduled from October 22 to October 24, will be held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. 

Pezeshkian will join the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the core BRICS nations, alongside representatives from approximately 30 other countries and international organizations for the BRICS Plus dialogue. 

Given that the leaders of many countries will be present in Kazan, several meetings are being arranged for Iran on the sidelines of the summit.
