TABNAK, Dec 10: “The Army Aviation has been able to turn threats to opportunities and despite cruel sanctions of the enemy, it can provide and use 900 pieces needed to build helicopters,” Second Brigadier General Ghasem Khamoushi, Commander of the Iranian Army Aviation said.
Earlier in September, Iran's Army Ground Forces Deputy Coordinator Major Yousef Ghorbani announced that the development of a new domestically-produced helicopter is 80% complete, with the indigenous project expected to be operational within two years.
Iran has made substantial progress in developing and introducing several homegrown helicopters, including the IAIO Toufan, which is derived from the U.S.-manufactured AH-1J International.
This helicopter incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as laser systems, digital control mechanisms, and centralized smart arms management systems.
