TABNAK, Feb 17: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baqaei said media reports on confiscation of Iranian-built military weapons heading to Yemen are ‘unfounded’.
He said making the accusations come in line with creating a negative and seditious atmosphere against the Islamic Republic of Iran consequent with American officials’ visit to the region.
He pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran has no military presence in Yemen, and the weapons in this country have nothing to do with the Islamic Republic.
US CENTCOM claimed that a shipment contained Iranian weapon components, drones, and communications gear that was destined for Yemeni Houthis through Red Sea.
