The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif called upon Europe on Saturday to honor the "big" promise which they made to Tehran to salvage the nuclear deal after the US withdrew from it.

Iranian media quoted Zarif saying that Europe made big promises on the Iran nuclear deal beyond their obligations, but have not acted yet.

Zarif added there would be further discussions with Europe, but "we will not wait for them and will continue to reach an international consensus to preserve our non-oil exports to provide what the county needs."

At the beginning of this month, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani received proposals submitted by three European countries (Britain, France and Germany) aimed at preserving the Iran nuclear deal but he deemed them "frustrating."

The Iran nuclear deal was reached in Vienna in July 2015 between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Germany, and the EU, to reduce its high-grade uranium enrichment production, in return easing of economic sanctions.
