Tabnak - After three days of intense meetings, speeches and roundtables, the Munich Security Conference ended yesterday, while on its last day, the conference became a venue for some speakers to express anti-Iranian positions and to accuse Iran of having a negative role in international and regional peace and stability.

Although given their persistent hostile views toward Iran, hearing such positions from high-ranking Israeli and American officials came as no surprise, when Saudi Arabia and Turkey decided to join them, the situation became more interesting.

In his address to the conference, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir accused Iran to supporting terrorism and interfering in the other countries’ internal affairs. "Iran remains the single main sponsor of terrorism in the world” Jubeir claimed in his speech, adding that "It’s determined to upend the order in Middle East ... until and unless Iran changes its behavior it would be very difficult to deal with a country like this”.

But maybe the most interesting part of Jubeir’s speech was where he said Iran is the only country in the region which has not been attacked by Al-Qaeda and ISIS and claimed that such a fact is debatable. This is while, it’s clearly known to the global public opinion that Saudi Arabia has been the main supporter of these two terrorist organizations, both ideologically and financially. Actually it’s still very fresh in the memory of the people around the world that according to the recently-unclassified CIA documents, the Saudis had a direct role in organizing and conducting the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York.

So, in fact one should ask the Saudi officials why these terrorist organizations have not yet "been successful” in conducting an attack in the Iranian territory. Does it have a reason other than that Iran, by its persistent commitment to fight against terrorism in the region and all around the world, has been able to prevent the terrorists to reach their goal against the country?

Along with Jubeir’s claims, the positions taken by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu did also have some anti-Iranian elements. "Iran’s tribal policies, has challenged the peace in many countries”, Cavusoglu said. "Iran is attempting to create two Shiite states in Syria and Iraq and with its interferences has challenged the stability in Yemen, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia”.

In reaction to these remarks, Iran’s Foreign Ministry dismissed as unconstructive Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's claims, saying Turkey and certain other "delusional" countries are responsible for instability and insecurity in the Middle East.

"Those who have carried out meddlesome, illegal and illegitimate measures supported terrorist groups and caused bloodshed and escalation of tensions and instability in the region cannot evade liability for such moves by playing a blame game,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Sunday.

In fact, it seems that the Turkish officials has forgotten that after the failed coup in Turkey July last year, Iran was among the first countries which condemned the coup and firmly supported the Turkish government and its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This is because Iran has a longstanding policy of supporting the will of people in the countries of the region and the same policy has been applied to Turkey, as well as to the countries facing with crisis, such as Syria. Now, it will be good if the Turkish Foreign Minister answers the question that is Turkey also ready to accept the will of people in the region – including in its own territory?!
