Tabnak – Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu once again tried to use its presence at the UN General Assembly to raise accusations against Iran over Tehran’s nuclear program. In response, the Iranian officials rejected his claims, saying that Netanyahu has been mocked by false information on the issue.

In this vein, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif deplored Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that Tel Aviv had identified a “secret atomic warehouse” in Tehran, saying no “craft show” can cover up facts about Israel’s secret nuclear weapons program.

“No arts & craft show will ever obfuscate that Israel is only regime in our region with a secret and undeclared nuclear weapons program - including an actual atomic arsenal,” Zarif said on his Twitter account early on Friday. “Time for Israel to fess up and open its illegal nuclear weapons program to international inspectors,” he added in his tweet.

In a speech to the UN general assembly on Thursday, Netanyahu said he was revealing the existence of the “atomic warehouse” for the first time in public. As he has in past presentations, Netanyahu brought visual aids to illustrate his claims, according to media reports.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi was another high-ranking Iranian official to react to Netanyahu’s claims, mocking Israeli Prime Minister on his recent claims. "I really think that some people are pulling Netanyahu's leg," Araqchi told IRIB in a short interview on Friday.

Iran’s representative at the United Nations General Assembly was another official to dismiss as “despicable lies” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claims about a “secret atomic warehouse” in Tehran and said no lies can cover up the Tel Aviv regime’s criminal nature.

“Israel the warden of the world’s biggest open prison –Gaza, dares to stand here once again and make a statement filled with despicable lies,” Farhad Mamdouhi said in a speech, addressing a UNGA meeting in New York on Thursday. “No amount of slur, no amount of lie, no amount of fabrication would cover up the criminal nature of Israel,” he added.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi strongly dismissed Netanyahu’s UN show as “ridiculous” and a fabricated scenario aimed at making up for the failed US and Israeli smear campaign against Iran at the UN General Assembly.

“The occupying regime [of Israel] must know that in the new era, the world will only laugh out loud at such false, inconsiderate and empty remarks and fake shows,” Qassemi told journalists on Thursday.

Iran has repeatedly announced that its nuclear program is merely for peaceful purposes and poses no threat to the international peace and security.
