Iraqi security forces and the warplanes of the US-led Coalition carried out separate operations in Iraq on Friday, during which they arrested an Islamic State (IS) logistics official and killed several jihadists belonging to the group.
“An international coalition airstrike killed several terrorists inside a tunnel in Badush mountains,” Iraq’s War Media Cell said.
The airstrike was followed by a ground operation into the mountainous area of northern province of Nineveh, where the Iraqi troops seized several explosive devices and food supplies in the IS hideouts.
Iraq's Military Intelligence Directorate said in a separate statement that its forces had arrested an IS member believed to be in charge of the group’s logistics in and around Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province, west of Iraq.
