Pakistan, Turkey discuss Strategic Economic Framework to boost trade ties

Pakistani and Turkish officials held talks in Ankara to finalize the Pakistan-Turkey Strategic Economic Framework aimed at boosting trade and commercial ties between the two brotherly countries.

Economic Affairs Division Secretary Noor Ahmed headed the Pakistan delegation while the Turkish delegation was led by Deputy Trade Minister Gonca Yilmaz Batur.

During the talks, considerable progress was made on discussing the draft SEF as well as a comprehensive plan of action.

It is expected that the finalized SEF would be adopted during the next meeting of the Pakistan Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council soon to be held in Islamabad that will be co-chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Broader areas of collaboration include textile, investment, industrial cooperation, banking and finance, transport and communication, low-cost housing, defence production, aviation, agriculture, water resource management, health and pharmaceuticals, transport and communication.
