The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei hosted senior military personnel, government officials and officials of various agencies for an annual gathering during the holy month of Ramadan at Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in downtown Tehran on Saturday.
At the start of his address to the gathering, the Leader said that "Western principles are against those Islamic ones," adding that "Double standards in West truly a disgrace to Western Civilization."
"We cannot follow principles of Western civilization in political, economic and other matters," Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.
"The insistence on the part of some bully states on negotiations is not to resolve issues, but to dominate and impose their own expectations. The Islamic Republic of Iran will definitely not accept their demands," the Leader underscored about the US and Western countries' call for talks on Iran's defensive power.
Ayatollah Khamenei also noted that the Europeans' claim that Iran has not fulfilled its commitments to the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is irrational, telling the Europeans that "Have you no shame."
He thanked the President Masoud Pezeshkian's administration for its efforts in tackling the people's problems.
The Leader went on to stress the need for preserving national unity as the way out of the problems.
"When it comes to economy, one of the most fundamental duties is to reform the country's foreign currency system and strengthen the national currency," he said.
