Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said Wednesday that "The claim by the US President that they are ready to negotiate is a deception of world public opinion."

A meeting between Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei and university students was held on Wednesday during the holy month of Ramadan.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran, contrary to the flawed, baseless, and shallow views of its enemies, opponents, and rivals, and despite the absence of figures like Martyrs Raeisi, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Haniyeh, Safieddine, Sinwar, and Deif, has become stronger in some issues compared to the same day last year, and in some matters, if it is not stronger, it is not weaker either," the Leader said.

"Today, the bullies of the world say that everyone must obey us and prioritize our interests over their own, but the Islamic Republic of Iran is the only country that has firmly rejected this," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"The claim by the US President that they are ready to negotiate is a deception of world public opinion," he asserted.

Ayatollah Khamenei said that negotiations with Washington will not remove the sanctions on Iran, as some people might argue, adding that the talks will increase the pressures.

The Leader stressed that negotiations will not resolve any problems.

"Iran spent several years negotiating a nuclear deal, but the US president tore down the deal," Ayatollah Khamenei said, explaining more that "When we know that they do not comply with talks, there is no need for such talks."

During today's meeting, which occurred on the 11th day of the holy month, the students shared their views, concerns, and questions with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in an open and friendly atmosphere.

The event began with representatives from various student organizations presenting their opinions and suggestions on a range of topics, including political, social, scientific, and cultural matters.
