Tabnak – In a latest sign of their willingness to destabilize Iran, foreign backed terrorists targeted a number of Iranian military personnel in the southeast of the country. In response, high-ranking Iranian officials vow to take revenge from the terrorists and their foreign supporters.

In this vein, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei denounced a bloody terrorist attack that targeted members of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), saying the spy agencies of certain regional and trans-regional countries certainly had a hand in this crime.

In a message on Thursday, Ayatollah Khamenei offered condolences to the bereaved families of the IRGC forces who lost their lives in Wednesday’s terrorist bomb attack, which took place in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Ayatollah Khamenei further called on the IRGC and relevant government institutions to swiftly and seriously follow up on the incident and deal with the perpetrators.

“It is certain that the perpetrators of this crime were linked to spy agencies of certain regional and trans-regional countries and the country’s relevant organizations must focus on that and seriously pursue it.”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also condemned last night’s deadly terrorist attack and said the country will take harsh revenge against the US-backed terrorists.

“The main root of terrorism in our region is the US and Zionism, and unfortunately, some of the oil-rich countries in this region are also financial supporters of terrorists,” Rouhani told reporters in Tehran on Thursday before his departure for Russia’s Sochi.

“Such cowardly crimes will have no effect on the great Iranian nation's resolve and they will continue to follow the same path they have chosen powerfully,” he stressed

“The Iranian people will never yield to the world powers,” he said, adding that the people have been facing mercenary terrorists since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. “We will definitely take revenge for the blood of our martyrs” Rouhani went on to say.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wondered if it was a coincidence that a deadly terrorist attack was carried out in Iran on the same day that an anti-Iran gathering in Warsaw got underway.

“Is it no coincidence that Iran is hit by terror on the very day that #WarsawCircus begins? Especially when cohorts of same terrorists cheer it from Warsaw streets & support it with twitter bots?” Zarif said in a post on his official Twitter account. “US seems to always make the same wrong choices, but expect different results,” he added.

At the same time, Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said his forces are determined to take severe revenge on terrorists behind a suicide attack in southeast Iran that killed 27 IRGC forces.

In a message released on Thursday, Major General Jafari expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of the IRGC forces in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

The “savage terrorist” attack last night that led to the martyrdom of 27 IRGC forces and the wounding of some others, only two days after the presence of millions of Iranians in the marches marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, indicated the impact of the Iranian people's strong slap on the face of leaders of the hegemonic system and the Zionist regime and their evil acts to retaliate for their historic defeat, the commander stated.

On Wednesday, an explosives-laden car rammed into a bus carrying the IRGC personnel on a road between the cities of Zahedan and Khash, leaving 27 of them dead and 13 others wounded. The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group reportedly claimed responsibility for the bombing.
