TABNAK, Dec 02: During the phone call, Pezeshkian referred to the movements of terrorist groups in northern Syria, reiterating that spread of insecurity and terrorism in the region is not in the interest of any country.
He called on all countries in the region to play a role and participate in confronting this ominous phenomenon of terrorism.
"We want a safe region that preserves the territorial integrity and privacy of Islamic countries and a life with peace and tranquility for all nations in the region,” he said.
The President also referred to the role of the Zionist regime in spreading insecurity and terrorism in the Islamic world and said, “We believe that the Zionist regime does not want Muslim nations to be in peace and tranquility. This issue make it necessary for Islamic nations to avoid differences and create convergence and unity.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, for his part, emphasized that Qatar shares the same positions as those of the Islamic Republic of Iran on regional issues, especially Gaza, Lebanon, and the need to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria.
“We believe that what is happening in Syria shows that stability and security in Syria cannot be achieved unless through dialogue and a political solution. We are fully prepared to play a role in establishing peace in Syria through a political agreement.”
