TABNAK, Dec 29: Iranian Ambassador to China Mohsen Bakhtiar in a post on X social network (formerly known as twitter) announced Araqchi held talks with the newly-appointed Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
Bakhtiar in another tweet wrote,"Dr. Araqchi's visit to China, as his first trans-regional visit, and the joint understandings with his Chinese counterpart in various fields, will have a significant impact on strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China. These understandings are based on a firm foundation by cultural and civilizational ties of the two countries and common values and interests."
Araqchi has embarked on an official visit to China, aiming to deepen the longstanding partnership between Tehran and Beijing.
Araqchi and his delegation arrived in Beijing on Friday at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Beijing, Araqchi described his trip as a critical opportunity for consultations on key regional, international, and bilateral issues. "The primary purpose of this visit is to engage in consultations on regional, international, and bilateral issues," he said.
