TABNAK, Nov, 09 : Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baqaei expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the attack.

He stressed that these terrorist acts violate all legal principles and rules and cannot be justified in any way.

Baghaei further referred to the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in condemning all manifestations of terrorism and violent extremism, and said that the rooting out this sinister phenomenon requires further strengthening of coordination and cooperation of all countries at the bilateral, regional and international levels.

The explosion on Saturday happened as nearly 100 passengers waited on a platform at about 8:45am (03:45 GMT) in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, for a train to Peshawar.

Pakistan’s largest and poorest province, resource-rich Balochistan, is home to  separatists armed groups and has been a frequent target of deadly attacks.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying in a statement that a suicide bomber targeted troops present at the railway station.

Broadcast footage showed bloodied clothes and other personal data-x-items scattered on the platform as uniformed personnel inspected the area following the blast, the steel structure of the platform’s roof blown apart.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the bombing, saying those who orchestrated the attack “will pay a very heavy price for it”, adding that security forces were determined to eliminate “the menace of terrorism”.
