The European Union respects U.S. decision to review the Iranian nuclear deal, but the nuclear deal does not belong to one country, EU foreign diplomacy chief Federica Mogherini said.
"We respect it, but we have also the duty to make it clear, the nuclear deal does not belong to one country – it belongs to the international community, to the United Nations system. It was endorsed by the UN Security Council with a resolution and I think we share responsibility to make sure that this continues to be fully implemented by all,” Mogherini said following her meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
In April the Trump administration started to review the
Iranian deal to clarify whether lifting of sanctions against Iran is in
compliance with the national interests of the United States.
